For the last four years we have worked hard to bring new, exciting and technically advanced ceramics to the gallery from all over the UK and further afield. We currently hold an extensive stock of works that reflect the immense strength and depth in the ceramics field, all of which are hand-made by artisans that pride themselves on developing their skills.
After many hours of study and consideration we have made our selections for the forthcoming Exhibition for Emerging Potters. We have a selection of 30 artists all new to Bils & Rye. We are delighted in the quality of the work submitted and it was no easy task cutting it down to a manageable level for our first event of this type.
There is still heaps of work to do to get the show ready, but in the meantime, here are a few images of the successful entrants.
Two packages arrived today, one from Todmorden in the form of a Hawk Lamp from our friends at BLOTT Works. We just love the engineering that goes into each piece and the attention to detail.
Second was a big package of stunning paintings by Cornish based artist Graham S Davis. This first batch of his work represents great value. Prices start at £400 and rise to £1000 for the work we have that all plays to a theme.
Coming soon we also have some very fresh works by Alex McIntyre, some examples of which are below. We love Alex's atmospheric take on the landscape, capturing the mood of the climate and light so expertly.
Here at Bils & Rye we love to shout from the rooftops about ceramics! This year will see our inagural emerging potter show, timed to run around Ceramic Art York. From the 1st September 2016 to the 31st October 2016 we will show a selection of ceramics by emerging makers from the UK and Ireland.
