Having returned from our first big external event, smiles abound from the experience, the people we met and the reception to our stand! Hard work didn't abate though with the need to completely rehang and dress the entire gallery! We have moved 1200 pieces over the last week and will be putting the finishing touches to the display tomorrow and Friday.
We have several new artists on board too including Juliette Bigley who makes stunning vessels from sterling silver and base metals. We also welcome Helen Dodds with her egg tempera paintings finished with gold leaf and a lot of her humour. Up from Cornwall come paintings from Amy Albright and we now have Laura Rich's North York Moors series available from the gallery.
Other new arrivals include new works from Elaine Bolt, Tanya Gomez, Norman Yap, Midori Takaki, Chiu-i Wu, Richard Heeley, Pauline Montgomery and Akiko Hirai. We also welcome Albert Montserrat and Rebecca Callis to the gallery. We have sold 9 of the 10 pots Albert gave us, new stock arrives in March 2016! Orders for commission are being taken, the price for each pot is £380.00. Rebecca's work is selling well, so much so, we've reordered one day after open the box for the first time!
New works from Robert J. Wyatt and Lindsay Madden complete the painting department.
Rightfully, we think, we are very proud of our sculpture offering with new works from Michael Thacker, Helen Sinclair and Tom Hiscocks. He was the star of the show in Harrogate with many visitors stopping for a while to marvel at his creations. He is busy working on new commissions from that show. We also welcomed Philip Wakeham to the gallery in time for the show and his work has been received so well it has exceeded our expectations. Exciting times in the 3D art world!
Finally, we are having a little do at the gallery to celebrate our status as a Small Business Saturday 100 company. Watch the press for more details over the weekend! We would be delighted to see you at the gallery and hope that you can come and support our fundraising efforts for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
