Do you have an online store? 

From our inception at the beginning of the 2013 we always had it in mind that we are a tactile gallery, encouraging visitors to pick up the works, walk around the sculptures as part of the experience.  In 2014 we launched an online version of the gallery, however, at the start of 2017 we have removed this store and whilst we will continue to service distant clients this will now take the form of telephone, email and social media avenues. Our aim is to make the experience for distant clients as close to that of our physical store and we felt this was not achievable with a convoluted check-out process and minimum information on the items for sale.

Full Terms and Conditions can be found here. We are VAT registered but operate under a special rule called the margin scheme. Therefore, the VAT element is not shown on the invoice. Please ask if you require any further details and we will be happy to oblige. 

Or we can provide an invoice with bank details.  We offer card payment for transactions via the email or phone with a video service being launched soon where you will be able to access videos of the products you want and see them in 360 degrees as if you were with us in Kirkbymoorside. Please bear with us though, we have over 850 items in stock and really want to get the presentation right!

 


What is your returns policy? 

We offer a tremendous 28 day no quibble money back guarantee for all purchases returned in A1 condition, thus allowing our distance selling to not only exceed the requirements under law but also with our desire to match products with people!

For deliveries in the UK we levy a £10.00 charge. For European orders we levy a £15.00 charge and for all other international deliveries we charge £20.00. Some items are not suitable to be sent in this way. We use a 'Pack and Send' company to dispatch oversized, heavy or particularly fragile items and due to the many factors we provide quotation on application for this service. We are happy to accept collection by couriers as long as we have the correct paperwork to release the goods. To proceed with an order that requires a Pack & Send quotation, please email Nick and include the relevant shipping location. We will then contact you with an accurate quote. 

All purchases must be paid in full prior to delivery being organised. Some of our items are heavy and cumbersome and delivery details need to be agreed in advance. We do not wish to make money from deliveries.

Return costs are not covered unless the product is faulty or damaged. All deliveries are comprehensively insured.

Do you deliver? 


Can I trial art at home? 

We realise that buying sculpture and paintings in particular can be a daunting task and a large financial commitment. We are happy to offer home trials on a wide range of the art works we carry in stock. This service is available for clients within a 50 mile radius of the gallery. On these occasions it is normal for us to deliver the art and a deposit may be taken. Please ask Kate, Nick or Layla for more information when you visit the gallery.

 


Can I spread the cost? 

At Bils & Rye we are very keen to match clients with artists and often this can involve fairly high value items. We are happy to offer spread payments for items over £250. Each case in decided on an individual basis and for local clients we offer a free delivery service. 

For more distant clients, the items will be dispatched once the entire balance is settled. 

Example:

Emerson Mayes - Summer's Saunter, Dusk - £1400.00

20% deposit = £280.00

8 monthly payments of £140.00

Total Payable = £1400.00

How do I commission a piece of art? 

 

Both Kate and Nick have extensive experience of the commissioning process and are more than happy to work with clients and artists to provide a seamless and stress-free experience. Kate won many commissions as a working artist and is now using her experience to guide artists tied to the gallery and beyond to best achieve the brief given by our clients. We source a great deal of work for private collectors that we do not display within the gallery space and have extensive connections with artists and agents in the UK and internationally.

What are your terms and conditions?

By ordering any of our products, you agree to be bound by these terms & conditions.

By placing an order at Bils & Rye, you warrant that you are at least 18 years old or have parents' permission to buy from us.

All personal information you provide us with or that we obtain will be handled by Bils & Rye as responsible for the personal information.

Events outside Bils & Rye's control shall be considered force majeure.

The price applicable is that set at the date on which you place your order.
